Bell 412EP (Griffin/Griffon) Helicopter Fuel System
Commissioned by the Defence Helicopter Flying school (UK MOD)
Development Cost - Circa $US16,000
Screen Grabs of the Griffin Fuel Emulation - in use.
This is a typical emulation with a Dynamic Schematic. The user controls the emulation via the pull-down
menu's and control panel. Action/reaction. As user interacts with the control panel etc, the
indicators, warnings and schematic reacts as per the real equipment.
- Objects 'work' like the real thing. Click on a switch and it moves, displays illuminate etc.
- Flow objects show direction and speed of fuel. User 'visualizes' complete system.
- Further emulations use flow objects to represent Data, Hydraulics, Electrical Power etc.
- User learns far more by 'doing'. Typically 10% - Reading, 20% - Listening, 90% - Carrying out the task (or emulation)
- Stimulate students, encourage experimentation with the system (safely), excellent for procedural training.
